Yet again, I have been tardy in keeping up to date in my News items, but now have three publishing successes to report.

In autumn of last year, a former army officer from India, Sajita Nair, had her novel, The Grande Matriarch of Malabar, published by a quality Indian press, Readomania. It concerns the now moribund practice of the kalyedath tharavad, whereby through matrilineal inheritance, which the author knew as a child, property was handed down via female hands. On the death of the Matriarch of the title, the granddaughter, Rohini, returns from the USA to manage the sale of the property, but the matriarch's ghostly presence threatens to thwart any sale. Sajita has already garnered a host of four and five star reviews on an independent review site. Well done for persevering over a number of years to get to this stage. Patience and sheer determination have played their part in her success.

The third piece of news is that Claire Parkin's novel, The Final Hours of Muriel Hinchcliffe, MBE. is due for launch by Pan Macmillan, in the last week of March, hopefully with a launch in the Crouch End branch of Waterstones (London). Claire is currently working on the second book of the two-book deal with Pan Macmillan.

David is that rare thing in the literary world, a facilitator who knows the business inside out, but who has managed to retain his qualities as a human being.Once he has begun working with you on your book, he will automatically become a friend. From being an author writing in isolation, and often in despair, you will have found a companion on the journey who cares about the book as much as you do - Lynn Bushell, Painted Ladies Sandstone Press , Feb. 2019 On sale at all good bookshops......and Tate Modern
